Cross Shredding

Utilizing a two-stage shredding process, Cross-Shredding results in a much smaller shred size than conventional strip-cut shredding, offering the maximum level of security. Cross-Shredding technology is not only cost-effective, but it significantly increases your system’s overall throughput.

In 2005, Allegheny introduced the industry’s first single-shaft grinder with an adjustable screen. The patent-pending Allegheny SelecShred™ allows operators to change the screen size of their grinder with the simple push of a button, instead of manually replacing one screen with another to accommodate different shred size requirements for different customers or departments. The flexibility provided by the SelecShred makes document destruction faster and more convenient, marking this technology as a major development for the information destruction industry.


Allegheny manufactures two different models of security grinders: 1436GX and 1452GX. The SelecShred screen is optional on all models.
